Digital elevation model (DEM) is the expression of the digital terrain. DEM has been widely used in the analysis and related research region. Currently, contour data is one of the most widely used DEM data. The organization and update of contour's spatiotemporal data is an important part of spatiotemporal data updating. Therefore, the organization and local updates of contour's spatiotemporal data are studied in this paper. The main contents and innovations of this paper are listed as follows:(1) Design the corresponding spatiotemporal data and update structure to resolve the update of contour problems. On the basis of the original data structure add a description of the time information.(2) After analyzing the procedure for the construction of Delaunay Triangulation without control boundary using point-insertion method, the author introduced the Qi algorithm to the key step of building node-topology to improve the efficiency.(3) In order to resolve the current contours update issue, the author presents a new contour automatic updates method in local changes area. This method realized the contour's updates automatically, and it solves the various problems that caused by manual update in traditional contours update, such as heavy workload, inefficient, update quality by human factors.(4) The historical data usually is not saved in the current contour update process. In this paper, the author saved the historical data using contour space-time data organization method as the same time as complete the contour update. At last, the author implemented an experiment system using C#. Then the author experiment several sets of terrain data by the experiment system and the results show that contour incremental updating algorithm are correct.
