In recent years, the pace of social progress is faster and faster, the dependence of people in the life of electronic devices or systems are also increasing. Along with the continuous development and improvement of microelectronic technology, the integration of microelectronic devices is improved, and the electronic equipment or system of electrostatic discharge electromagnetic sensitivity has been greatly improved, the anti overvoltage capacity have been reduced. In today’s electronics industry, a large number of integrated circuit failure or damage is an important reason to cause huge economic losses each year. Which accounts for about 1 / 3 of the ratio is due to electrostatic discharge caused by integrated circuit failure or damage.Current IEC and other standards for the ESD simulator has a unified regulation, it has two kinds of discharge methods: contact discharge and air discharge. Because the contact discharge with good repeatability and reproducibility, is IEC6100042 standards as the main test methods, but it also has deficiencies such as can not simulate the actual electrostatic discharge process. In some field merging is not applicable. Air discharge involves external spark channel formation, discharge voltage size and polarity, environmental temperature and humidity, the proximity of the electrodes speed and other factors, these factors will significantly affect the discharge process. Therefore, the repetitive discharge of air discharge events is relatively low. But the air electrostatic discharge is the electronic device or configure formation damage or disturbance of the main form of also is the reality of engineering technology and living environment has the most probable discharge phenomenon, has the important research significance to the electronics industry. To sum up, we can see the research related to the impact of air electrostatic discharge characteristics of factors, it is possible to construct a air electrostatic discharge, electrical and electronic system of electrostatic discharge sensitivity testing standard revision and Perfection on the basis of the theoretical foundation.
