Metallic photonic crystals(MPCs) is including gold nanowires, gold nanocylinders, gold nanoholes, and gold nanorings, which has arrays of periodically arranged metallic nanostructures. Waveguide MPCs imply MPCs that are fabricated on a layer of dielectric materials which combine the feature of MPCs and dielectric materials. The specific photophysics properties of the MPCs is because of the strongly interaction between plasmon resonance of the metallic nanostructures and the resonance mode of the waveguide grating structures, which is wildly used to Optical switch, Biological sensor, Photovoltaic materials, Surface enhanced Raman scattering spectroscopy and distributed feedback laser devices, etc. The traditional methods such as electron beam lithography, focused ion beam etching and interference lithography with dry etching cannot overcome the shortcomings, for example, the small areas of MPCs, the high cost and the long preparation time. The solution-processed method by means of spin coating the chemically synthesized nanometer gold colloidal solution on the photoresist grating which fabricated by interference lithography could prepare of large area’s MPCs. Moreover, the solution-processed method provide a feasible way for industrial production of MPCs for the characteristics which including simply process, flexible methods, high responsibility and low cost.
