With the rapid development of computer technology and microelectronics, ground penetrating radar(GPR) technology in equipment and data processing, and so on increasingly progress, application scope also more and more widely, has been involved in environment, geology, archaeology, road construction and military, etc. In order to improve the detection efficiency and precision, it is necessary to establish a set of feature correlation detection device, can achieve the goal of automatic identification, cost savings. This paper conducts the methods of the simulation of buried target scattering and makes following three aspects:(1)As close to the practical application, this paper uses ground penetrating radar(GPR) system, including sending and receiving antenna transmitting antenna radiation signal at port, receiving antenna receiving through at load port, through the analysis of the voltage waveform on the load, the feature information of target is obtained. The antenna is the critical component of GPR system, and it usually determines the performance of GPR system. By using the bow-tie antenna and log periodic antenna as the emitting and picking-up antenna. In its traditional prototype, loading resistance to extend antenna bandwidth, adding back cavity make omnidirectional radition into unidirectional radiation, filling the absorbing material to restrain the phenomenon of radiation waveform trail, these can improve antenna performance.(2)Design the appropriate excitation signal, this paper chooses the typical shock pulse signal and step frequency signal.(3)Electromagnetic simulation software CST base on finite integral technology(FIT), and build a model in the CST. By using the ultra-wideband antennas as the emitting and picking-up antenna, shock pulse signal and step frequency signal as the excitation signal, develop model and conduct simulation base on different scattering conditions of different antennas, soil, burial depth and buried targets, and analyze the receiving target echo. Analysis of antenna, the soil, burial depth, buried target impact on detection results, and sum up the general rules, so as to effectively improve the accuracy of detection.
