Ecological environment of fragile zone is deteriorating under the background of climate changing such as pastoral transitional zone, how to evaluate ecological restoration and to choose suitable species scientifically is of great significant to the sustainable development of ecological fragile zone. In this study, a representative selection of the study area is in Horqin Sandy. In this article, Geographic Information System (GIS) and entropy method was used, analysis variable characteristics of ecosystem service function pattern from 2000 to 2010 in Horqin Sandy, on this basis, build ecological restoration effectiveness evaluation model to assess the effectiveness of Ecological Restoration in Horqin Sandy in this decate. Select the main species for ecological restoration in low-level function of the effectiveness of ecological restoration areas and create Comprehensive Benefit Evaluation Index by field observations, experiments and entropy method, then using model to evaluate the main species for ecological restoration. Further, put forward some counter measures and suggestions on ecological restoration and selection of appropriate species in Horqin Sandy under the relationship of climatic factors and ecological restoration and suitability of species. Mainly we made the following conclusions:(1) Sand-fixing function in Horqin sandy land mainly in the Southeast, decade has improved; Horqin sandy water conservation function and soil hold function both at a low level in its entirety, but trend toward a slightly healthy development in the past decade; Horqin sand to enhance the overall product supply function in the decade significantly in the eastern region showed a significant increase in the trend. On this basis, this study selected soil conservation, hydrological regulation, sand-fixing and product supply as four-level indicators and the amount of soil conservation, hydrology adjustment, sand fixation and food production as four specific indicators, to build ecological restoration effectiveness evaluation model combing entropy method. Then assessment shows that the effectiveness of Horqin sandy land ecological restoration generally low, low grade and a higher proportion of lower grade, but showed significant improvement in the trend, reducing the proportion of low-grade regional area, increase the proportion of high and high-grade area.(2) Select the main species for ecological restoration in low-level function of the effectiveness of ecological restoration areas by local actual investigation, then choose Salix gordejevii Chang et SkV, Caragana microphylla Lam and Hedysarum mongolicum Turez as the main species for local ecological restoration. Selected general ecological adaptability, the effect of wind and sand, economic management as three-level indicators and nine specific indicators, to establish a comprehensive benefit evaluation index method with entropy method. According to the comprehensive benefit evaluation index of the three common sand-fixing shrubs suitability evaluation results showed that the most suitable species for this area is Caragana microphylla Lam.(3) Weather meteorological data from seven weather station in Horqin sandy land from 1952 to 2011 shows that annual average temperature of Horqin sandy land showed a significant upward trend, the climate characteristics of Horqin sandy land is warmer and drier. Therefore, under the background of global climate change, ecological restoration Horqin need to adapt to warming and drying. Screening species should focus on drought resistance, cold resistance, temperature and other characteristics, at the same time, Horqin sandy land ecological restoration to improve the sand-fixing to the main function, to further improve the local environment.
