The western Yunnan is an important tin deposits’ cluster in China, which is famous for large tin deposits. Three typical deposits are selected here which are the Lailishan tin deposit in Lianghe County, the Xiaolonghe tin deposit in Tengchong City and Shiganghe tin deposit in Lushui County. The geology and geochemical data of the above tin deposits are collected and three geochemical exploration models on tin deposits are proposed according to the method illustrated in the national project of assessment of mineral resource potential. Thus this paper analyzed and summarized the geochemical exploration models of the tin deposits in Western Yunnan, which includes the regional geochemical exploration and the rock geochemical exploration. The main conclusions are as follows.Geochemical exploration model of Yunnan Lailishan tin deposit: the association of the regional geochemical exploration indicator elements and the grades of alteration anomaly are 10 kinds of elements, including Sn(7 grade), Bi(5 grade), W and Ag(3 grade), Cu, Pb, F and Be(2 grade), As and Th(1 grade). The association of the rock geochemical exploration indicator elements and the grades of alteration anomaly are 16 kinds of elements, including W and Co(7 grade), Sn(4 grade), Mo and Bi(3 grade), Pb, Nb, Th, U and Y(2 grade), Cu, Cd, F, Li, Be and Zr(1 grade).Geochemical exploration model of Yunnan Xiaolonghe tin deposit: the association of the regional geochemical exploration indicator elements and the grades of alteration anomaly are 19 kinds of elements, including W, Sn, Cu, F and Be(5 grade), Bi, Y(4 grade), Li, Th and U(3 grade), Ag, As and La(2 grade), Mo, Cd, Hg, B, Zr and Nb(1 grade). The association of the rock geochemical exploration indicator elements and the grades of alteration anomaly are 15 kinds of elements, including Sn and W(6 grade), Bi and Cd(5 grade), F in(4 grade), Be and Li(3 grade), Mo, Cu, Nb, Th, U, Y and Co(2 grade), with the addition of Pb(1 grade).Geochemical exploration model of Yunnan Shiganghe tungsten-tin deposit: the association of the regional geochemical exploration indicator elements and the grades of alteration anomaly are 7 kinds of elements, including W(6 grade), Sn(5 grade), Bi and B(3 grade), Cd, As and Be(2 grade). The association of the rock geochemical exploration indicator elements and the grades of alteration anomaly are 3 kinds of elements, including U(3 grade), La(2 grade) and W(1 grade).Geochemical exploration model of tin deposits’ in Western Yunnan: the indicator elements association found by regional geochemical exploration included 5 kinds of elements, W, Sn, B, As and Be. Specifically, Sn was in the 5-7 grade alteration anomaly zone, W, Bi and Be were in the 3-5 grade alteration anomaly zone, As was in the 1-3 grade. 15 kinds of elements were shown in the rock geochemical exploration indicator elements association. The elements were W, Sn, Mo, Bi, Cu, Pb, Cd, F, Li, Be, U, Nb, Th, Y and Co. W, Sn and Co were in the 3-5 grade alteration anomaly zone, the elements in the 1-3 grade alteration anomaly zone were Bi, U, Cd, Li, Mo, F, Be, Nb, Th, Y, Cu, Pb.
