Survey On The Key Protected Plants Of Mount Taihang In Jiyuan

Taihang Mountain area in Jiyuan, Henan, where is a national nature reserve and a valuable natural wealth for humans. This area is a habitat of many kinds of rare wild animal and plant species due to its good natural environment. Therefore, the survival situation of major protective plants in this area should be paid attention to. This dissertation contains a survey of the basic situation of major protective plants in Taihang Mountain area. Although there were thirty targeted major protective plants, the results showed that there were four kinds of major protective plants in this area, including Taxus chinensis, Taxus chinensis var. mairei, Cercidiphyllum japonicum and Paeonia jishanensis. These four plant species are distributed scatteredly. In this study, we provided information of the wild populations, location, geographic information, habitat status, the protection statue and the threat factors of targeted species. This dissertation also investigated eighteen artificially cultivation plants. The results showed that Eucommia ulmoides, Metasequoia glyptostroboid.es, Taxus chinensis, Taxus chinensis var. mairei, Liriodendron chinense, Cercidiphyllum japonicum, Sinojackia xylocarpa, Magnolia officinalis, and Phoebe zhennan had been cultivated in Jiyuan Forestry Bureau, Jiyuan Gardens Bureau etc. According to the results, we assessed the characteristics of artificial cultivation and development of the major protective plants in Jiyuan Taihang Mountain area and proposed protection and management methods in this area.
