As a new surveying technology,3D Laser Scanning gain popularity among various kinds of sectors because of quick, accuracy, efficient and non-contact. With the fast develop of Computer Graphics, many new concepts is emerging, such as digital city, virtual reality, reverse engineering, digital mine, and promote application of 3D Laser Scanning technology in more fields. As so far, there is no difficulty in obtaining 3D data, from huge projects to small sculptures, no matter ground or underground,3D Laser Scanner is able to obtain detail 3D space information of many subtances. However, the data processing is far behind the achieving hardly, how to process the large amount of data has become a hot issue in recent years. In this paper, two questions about data processing will be discussed:denoising of points cloud and filling of data hole. First of all, the theory about 3D Laser Scanning and the characteristic of 3D data are stated, and emphasize the importance of data processing. Secondly, the issue of denoising is explored, followed by the analysis of common denoising methods, such as Medium, Means, Gauss, and summary the shortcomings of above methods in the data processing. A new method, height-angle is come up. This method cut out noise data according to the classification of data without weighting. The result of experiments proves that height-angle is superior to common methods. Thirdly, the question of data filling is researched, and discuss the theory of common interpolation methods, such as Hermite, spline, B-spline, Bezier, rational, polynomial. Polynomial will be used to carry out the plan of data filling after comparing the interpolating results of common interpolation methods, and formulate the conditions of control points and standards of fitting curves. The last result of test explains the feasibilities of Polynomial interpolation. Finally, the quality of surface is discussed briefly, a 3D model of a tailing is constructed to explain the promising application of 3D Laser Scanning technology in the production of mine.
