Ecological non-commercial forest is a type of forest, which takes developing forest ecological benefits, maintaining and preserving natural environment, protecting biodiversity, enriching natural landscape and improving quality of human life as main tasks. Alxa League is the upper reaches of wind and sand and is one of the most sand sources of sandstorm. While non-commercial forest can reduce wind speed, prevent desertification and has obvious preventive roles in sandstorm. At the moment, there is still a lack of vegetation survey and plant diversity research of public welfare forest in Alxa League system. Through the distribution pattern of plant diversity of public welfare forest in Alxa League and its main factors, this article aims to propose related theoretical basis to the management and protection of public welfare forest in Alxa League from the angle of plant diversity. In this paper, based on a major survey for the public welfare forest in Alxa League there are 126 representative sample spots were investigated.Based on the field investigation and data analysis, the main conclusions as following:(1)The public welfare forest in Alxa League lacks of community types, consists of single species life form, perennial shrubs and herbal as main plants. There are 70 plants recorded in sample plot, belonging to 21 families and 56 genera. Plants take Compositae,Chenopodiaceae,Leguminosae and Gramineae as dominant families, which account for 57.14% of the total number of species. Distribution of plant families includes 4 distribution types and 3 distribution subtypes; distribution of plant genera includes 8 distribution types and 6 distribution variations. Plants genera are mainly temperate elements with low endemism degree; main communities include Agriophyllum squarrosum,Populus euphratica,Asparagus gobicus,Nitraia tangutorum, Alhagi camelorun etc.(2) The public welfare forest in Alxa League t has strong spatial autocorrelation in research scale.Within the variable range, spatial heterogeneity caused by climate, altitude, topography, soil conditions, groundwater level and other structural factors takes the leading role, while spatial heterogeneity caused by random factor is relatively weak.(3) Climate, habitats and biological factors explain 56.47% of species pattern changes in total, in which climate is the main factor of species pattern, habitats and biological factors also play an important role in species pattern; among three environmental factors, there are strong interaction, even though climate factor takes up 43.6% of total explanation but its independent explanatory power is only 12.3%, the explanatory power of environmental factors and biological factors is even lower and mostly presented as the synergy between the two and climate; 43.53% of variations have not been explained, which is likely caused due to groundwater level, interference effect, random factor and other functions.(4) The public welfare forest in Alxa League has simple plant composition, single species, and fragile vegetation and is difficult to recovery once destroyed. It is suggested to control population growth, plan rational development activities and make proper fencing and management measures for the update of The public welfare forest in Alxa League and maintenance of plant diversity.
