GIS has responsibility for analyzing and processing spatial data and has a strong advantage of spatial analysis. Because of meteorological data having obvious spatial and temporal characteristics, it will have important significance in mining the laws of Science in meteorological data when give full play to the advantage of GIS processing and analysis of spatial-temporal data and realize multi-source, heterogeneous, massive and spatial meteorological data analysis. However, due to the parallel development of GIS and meteorology for years, existing mainstream GIS platforms have difficulty in dealing directly with the management and analysis of meteorological data with spatial and temporal characteristics, bringing a big obstacle to integration of GIS and meteorological profession. It also prevents GIS to serve more functions to provide spatial information services for meteorology.Based on these, this article focuses on researching the meteorological GIS spatial data model and symbol libraries meteorology, meteorological temporal GIS data organization and management as well as interpretation and integration of meteorological GIS spatial data,(1) While solving the issue that integration of spatial data model design and meteorological symbol library in constructing meteorological GIS platform prototype and complete meteorological symbol library design and packaging.(2) Under the support of model and symbol library, it designs meteorological spatial data organization and management and Constructed the meteorological GIS visualization components, complete package with integrated coordinate transformation matrix, graphics, drawing mode and index caching mechanism(3) Realizes the interpretation, the model butt and integration of GIS data and professional meteorological data including MICAPS data, netCDF data adn radar data.(4) On this basis, the meteorological GIS platform prototype system is constructed, which realized direct visualization of meteorological GIS spatial data as well as simple spatial analysis and dynamic display of temporal meteorological data. Correctness and feasibility of this research is verified, while a useful exploration is conducted to improve the meteorological GIS platform.
