Huainan area is located in the southern margin of the North China plate, at the junction with the South China plate and developmental characteristics of geological structure, Huainan coalfield is an important coal producing areas of East China, so for the study of the formation mechanism and evolution law of geological structure is very important.Based on the Shun Geng mountain fault zone as the main research object, combined with the interaction of surrounding the formation of the tectonic movement, then through field survey and indoor later research, with joint of mainland area layer, fault and fold shape, combined with the observation and analysis of light, thin section. The study of macroscopic and microscopic geologic characteristics of the fault zone’s geological structure in the area were taken. With the use of joint statistics in installment, rose diagram, density map rendering, so tectonic movement period time was analyzed, stress field characteristics was recovered, draw the following conclusions:Shun Geng mountain fault zone is nearly east-west distribution, which belongs to the overthrust nappe fault, fault dip changes,The shallow dip angle at about 60-70 degrees, the downward gradually changes, the depth is about 20-30 degrees.Under stress, the fracture zone has a wide development, which is about 20-30 meters.The fault zone rock breakage is serious, the fault planes have fault gouge formation, and development of powdery rock, granulitic rock, mortar rock and cataclastie, the local area has recrystallization phenomenon, in the fault zone rock surface physicochemical development significantly, in part of the fault zone have lens and a regular arrangement.Fracture in the region are at a high angle distribution, there are 3 main development phase of joints:to nearly east-west direction of the joint group, N30-40E and N300-330W of the joint group.Joint group interaction cutting provides geological information for geological tectonic movement in the late for installment and the coupling.Regional fault zone tectonic movement mainly through a Indosinian movement, Yanshan movement and the Himalayan movement. Basic trend of the fault zone is determined by Indosinian movement and controlled the fault zone morphology, and the later tectonic movement on the basis of this, reformed and superimposed the fault zone, resulting in the formation of the current fault zone tectonic characteristics.
