| Three genera Amaurodera, Tetrabothrus and Zyras belong to the subfamily Aleocharinae, tribe Lomechusini. However, taxonomic study on these three genera in China are only some sporadic studies but without systematic researches. Most of the Chinese known species were reported or recorded by foreign scholars and many type specimens were also deposited overseas. So there are great difficulties for us to study Chinese groups.China has diversity geographical environment and bestrides both Palaearctic and Oriental regions. The Amaurodera, Tetrabothrus and Zyras resources are very abundant.As far as the specimen of the lab, our country has a lot of new species which have not been found yet. In order to clarify these insect resources in China, the author selected this as the topic of his MS thesis.The study was based on the consulting all related literature and careful examinations of 320 specimens collected from south of China. The conclusions of my study are summed as below:1.In the aggregate,15 species are recognized, with 6 of them descried here as new(4 of them have been published), Amaurodera darenae sp. n.(Guangxi), Tetrabothrus xizangensis sp. n.(Xizang), Tetrabothrus nigrus sp. n.(Sichuan), Zyras nanbanensis sp. n.(Yunnan), Zyras baihuamotis sp. n.(Yunnan), Zyras hainanensis sp. n.(Hainan); with 2 of them reported as first record in China, Amaurodera smetanai Pace, 1992, Tetrabothrus japonicus Nakane, 1991. 2.All species were described in detail, with the collecting data and distribution of each species, the color photos of all the species were given and the diagnostic characters were illustrated. The research history Was also given for known species.3.The key to the species of the two genera Amaurodera, Tetrabothrus and the subgenus Termidonia of China were presented.4.A catalog of the genus Amaurodera, Tetrabothrus and Termidonia of China was given.5.A database including all the studied species of the genus Amaurodera,Tetrabothrus all over the world was delicately built. |
