Experimental Research For Biogenic Of Elemental Sulfur In Coal Water Medium

It regards elemental sulfur detected in coal conductivity fracture as the research objectin this paper. We carry on research about the geologic origin of the hydrogeologic phenomena. There are important theoretical significance for the understanding of the coal measures strata hydrogeochemical conditions.It is found that there are abundant bacterial species in groundwater of Panbei coalmine,at the same time with sulfate reducing bacteria(SRB) and sulfur oxidizing bacteria(SOB). Microbes can use of pulverized coal leach liquor as carbon source, use of mine water as reaction substrate, which provides the possibility for the microorganism exist in the coal seam. SRB and SOB can symbiosis in anaerobic environment,and they can complete the transformation process from SO42- to S0 by matrix chain. The main progress is:SRB reduce SO42-to S2-by using organic matter as carbon source. SOB change sulfides to zero-valent sulfur oxide in oxidation condition with the changing of the groundwater quality.The progress of SO42- reduced can make mine water PH increased, salinity decreased, reducing the hardness, SO42-content decreased, Ca2+and Mg2+content decreased, CO32-and HCO3- content increased. The progress of sulfide oxidized can make mine water PH decreased, salinity increased, Ca2+and Mg2+content decreased a little, CO32-and HCO3-content increased. There is a little change about Na++K+and Cl- content. SOB’s oxidation enhances with the ORP increasing, as to reach to-89 mV,oxidation product transformed from S0 to SO42-. ORP has a great influence on producing elemental sulfur.It is found that in the open groundwater circulation system and the combination of the closed system test:It is produced elemental sulfur in the process of underground water from open groundwater circulation system mixing with groundwater from closed system. ORP has a huge impact on the elemental sulfur yield.
