Value-neutrality of science forms in the background of the birth of modern natural science. The rise and development of modern natural science is on the process of the fight with religious theology. Modern science is built on empiricism, observation, logic and mathematics. Science is treated as an activity of purely pursuit of truth, and in order to make sure the objectivity, logicality and authenticity of science, scientists’ task is just to find out the truth of the world and describe it truthfully just through scientific activities, the process has nothing to do with the value of man.As the development of social history and the scientific uncertainty revealed, value-neutrality of science is severely questioned and fiercely criticized, and the value-load of science is growing up. In scientific research activities, the motivation, purpose, raise of scientific questions, establishment of scientific theories and laws, organization of scientific research and science as a kind of social institution and a kind of knowledge system demonstrate that: science is not a value-neutrality but a value-load social activity. The value load of science not only possesses ontological fundament supports by the uncertainly of science,but also owns the gist of epistemology,It reflects not only the subjective judgments of the scientists,but also the value orientation exclusively belongs to science to guide or measure this judgment which is not simply a scientific point of view,it’s an issue that as a fact of scientific practice that give strategy constraint to itself.Based on value-load of science, what criteria to follow and what responsibility to take for scientists impact both the sustaining, rapid, effective and healthy development of science itself and the overall interests of society. Hence, it’s important both theoretically and practically to revisit a comprehensive research on the value of science.
