In recent years, due to the growing size of the food industry, the increasing complexity of the industrial structure, product type is becoming richer, more rapid changes in consumer demand, if companies want to survive and develop in a competitive environment, it is necessary to enhance their competitiveness. In the food industry, the food supply chain accounts for a pivotal position, the food supply chain management is an integrated mode of operation of agricultural and food production, and marketing organization and implementation, and its purpose is to reduce logistics costs of food and agricultural products, improve the quality and logistics services. It can be seen that the relationship between food supply chain performance and competitiveness of enterprises is very closely, so as to achieve the purpose of enhancing competitiveness, companies need the existing food supply chain management to improve upgrade and improve the performance of the entire food supply chain.Based on the above background, this article proposed how to improve the food supply chain performance, and tried to study the core issues of the food supply chain management by using the system dynamics approach. In this paper, the main research work is carried out from the following aspects:Firstly, this paper studies the concept of supply chain management and supply chain management in the food industry, clarify the purpose and significance of this study; Secondly, this paper summarizes the research status of the food supply chain, then points out the existing problems in the management of food supply chain, and analyzed the influence of the trend and the change of demand for food supply chain, especially the influence of seasonal changes in food supply chain factors; Third, this paper introduces the system dynamics model about supply chain management, reviews the theory of system dynamics, and this is the theoretical basis of the system dynamics model of the food supply chain.This paper constructs a system dynamics model of the food supply chain based on system dynamics method, simulation models are established in three aspects: normal demand, increasing demand, and seasonal demand. We set parameter and inspect the effectiveness of the model using the Power Sim software and computer simulation method, find out the key factors affecting the food supply chain value through dynamic analysis. Based on the combination of different simulation strategies, this paper gives the optimal delivery period of manufacturers, retailers and distributors which make daily inventory change minimum.This paper analysis the core content of the food supply chain to find out the influence factors of food supply chain performance, to provide basis and method for decision making for the node enterprises in supply chain.
