Argo plan has gained the massive, real-time, high-resolution ocean subsurface observation data, since 1998, the atmosphere and Marine scientists in the United States and other countries launched the "ARRAY for REAL-TIME GEOSTROPHIC OCEANOGRAPHY". Currently, Argo data have been able to form a global regional scale, high-resolution ocean volume data field. Therefore, ocean volume data visualization has become an emerging interdisciplinary study which combining three-dimensional data visualization technology and marine science, and the ocean volume data visualization have broad application prospects and development space in ocean science, weather forecast, and other fields. This paper focuses on developing the ocean data visualization systems which supporting rapid development. And mainly aims at the ocean volume data field, and from the perspective of scientific visualization, combines with a scripting language Python, The main work of the thesis and innovative results are as follows:1. Research the status of domestic and overseas development of Argo plan. Fast reading scheme is designed for Argo data and other marine data, based on the GDAL.2. Study and discuss the scientific visualization concepts and describes current research progress domestic and international.3. Research scripting language, and analyze the feasibility of using a scripting language processing and visualization of massive marine data.4. Investigation of the Python visualization library, and make improvements based on the existing visualization library, making it suitable for marine visualization applications.5. Design three-dimensional slice application platform which suitable for marine volume data visualization. A visualization program between two-dimensional visualization and three-dimensional visualization (volume rendering). The design of the visualization program modeled on the medical three-dimensional virtual cutting technology, in order to determine the lesion of human.6. Design data visualization software platform for multi-source marine data, it not only supports multi-source marine data format conversion, data area cut, but also supports 2D and 3D visualization for the multi-source marine data. For example, the contour visualization, the isosurface visualization, the vector arrow visualization, distribution map visualization, volume rendering visualization, three-dimensional slice visualization. It is designed to provide a new visualization tools to marine researchers.
