This study firstly cloned PRMT1 gene of Artemia sinica by RACE technology,which got CDNA with the full length 1201 bp which can encod 346 amino acids.Through structure domain analysis,it`s known that the As- PRMT1 contains a PRMT5 combination and a SAM super family structure domains.Multiple sequence alignments revealed that the putative As-PRMT1 protein sequence was relatively conserved across species, especially in the SAM domain. The expression of As-PRMT1 is widely distributed during embryo developemt of A. sinica. This is followed by a dramatic upregulated after diapause termination and is newly downregulation from the nauplius stage. Furthermore, As-PRMT1 transcripts are highly upregulated under conditions of high salinity and low temperature stress. These ndings suggest that As-PRMT1 is stress-related factor and may promote or close the expression of certain genes, play a critical role in embryonic development and resistance low temperature and high salinity stress.
