Tarim basin is the largest oil and gas basin in inland china, with being explored several large oil and gas fields, and still havinga great exploration prospect. Central tarim basin is located in the middle of Tarim basin, is one of the most important strategic petroleum zone. In recent years, the petroleum explorationin central tarim basin has achieved many breakthroughs and get into the new stage. In this paper, the research area is Zhonggu 8 south well area where is the important petroleumzone in central tarim basin.The past data show that the petroleum reservoir of central tarim basin is mainly inOrdovician, the depth is often under 5000m. Carbonate reservoir in the study area is complexand have a strong karstification, whosefracture and cavern developed, which makes the petroleum exploration of central tarim basin is very difficult.Seismic exploration is one of the most important means in petroleum exploration, it can effectively reflect the underground geological information and perfectly describe geological structure and petroleum reservoir. The paper studied the fracture distribution and towards in Zhonggu 8 south well to study its control function of petroleum reservoir and development of cracks. By analyzing the 3d-seismic data and well logging data to interpret the stratum and structure, we focused on describing characteristics of the purpose layer(Ordovician),emphatically analyzed reservoir characteristics and seismic response characteristics in Ordovician reservoir.Based on petrophysics analysis, The paper simulated the seismic wave field by using the wave equation, and got the seismic response characteristics of the reservoir in the study area. By extracting and analyzing seismic attributes (amplitude, frequency etc) and well logging data to proceed the joint inversion, we summarized the spatial distribution of the favorable reservoir and advanced petroleum reservoir prediction with AVO technique and seismic attributes. Combining geological data态well logging data and 3d-seismic data, then based on analyzing the seismic response characteristics, we comprehensively analyzed the distribution of the petroleumreservoir in Zhonggu 8 south well zone.
