In today’s world, along with the increasingly prominent contradiction of land resources,humans began to look the vast sea for help, then many Marine science and technology develop rapidly.In this paper, the deep-sea drill sampling Medium-Deep Core we studied should belong to the field of ocean drilling and deep-sea exploration technology. The deep sea drill sampling Medium-Deep Core can dig deep sea mineral, provide a lot of support for the science research and the Marine economy in our country.It has become a basic equipment of the ocean scientific research ship named "DayangYihao"..In order to conform to the development trend of intelligent and visiual monitoring in the deep-sea sampling drill, This article has introduced an electronic monitoring system for the deep-sea drill sampling Medium-Deep Core.The system can be divided into two main parts: the Upwater system and the Underwater system. The Upwater system is mainly to monitor and control the operation condition of the underwater equipment;the Underwater system is mainly to acquire every sensor data,perform the orders from the Upwater system,realize the operation control to the drill. The Upwater system and the Underwater system achieve real-time communication through the composite cable of optical fiber and electric power.This main work of this article include overall structure system design, the Underwater monitoring system design, the Upwater monitoring system design and system debugging and application.After the comprehensive consideration of the existing technical conditions and the demand of the system design, at first this article determine the system overall scheme design.Then introduce the desigen of the Underwater monitoring system including the hardware and software system in details.The hardware system design is developed by STM32F103VCT6 microprocessor as the core,the main monitoring system and peripheral extended system achieve communication through CAN bus. The software system design mainly introduce how to realize the function of each module in details.After that,this article introduces the design of the monitoring software in the Upwater monitoring system, using Visual Studio 2008 as a development tool, c # as the development language,realize the visualization design of the drilling operation.At last, this paper introduces the debugging process of the whole system and the the success of the application in the 30’s ocean scientific research by the "Dayang Yihao" ship.In this paper, a set of electronic monitoring system based on CAN network of the deep-sea drill sampling Medium-Deep Core has been developed successfully. This system has completedworkshop debugging smoothly in Changsha Institute of Mining Research. And now it has been used formally in the ocean scientific research ship named "Dayang Yihao" with the deep-sea drill.More than that,in 2014, they have successful completed the task of the 30’s ocean scientific research in the southwest Indian Ocean.
