With the development of the society, environmental problems becomes more and more serious. The fog and haze weather occurred more frequently, has become an important factor which had a bad impact on regional and urban air quality. This paper using conventional observation data during 2007-2013 in jiangsu province, climate features of fog and haze days and the meteorological elements characteristics of hazy phenomena are analyzed.the result shows that:(1) The spatial distribution of fog days in jiangsu province were gradually reduce from the east to the west and south; And the spatial distribution of haze days were gradually decreasing from north to South in Jiangsu.(2) Interdecadal variation shows that, fog days has a trend of fluctuations and haze days increased year by year.Seasonal variations appeared:The numbers of fog days in autumn and winter are larger than those in spring and summer;haze days in summer is the least.Fog and haze phenomenon are mostly happens at 8:00 and 14:00 during a day.(3) The average relative humidity of Jiangsu haze days are between 45% and 50%,relative humidity of the middle part of Jiangsu province is larger than the most parts of south and north parts of Jangsu province.(4) The average wind speed of Jiangsu haze days are between 2.8 m/s and 3.8m/s, the average wind speed of Jiangsu east part is greater than the western region, the spatial distribution were gradually decreasing from the east to the west.(5) Huaian haze weather is mostly the moderate haze, when the wind speed is less then 3m/s and the humidity between 50% and 60% the haze weather occured most. The wind distribution vary in different seasons.(6) There’s a positive correlation between wind speed and visibility, and in autumn and winter the correlate relatively well.A negative correlation between relative humidity and visibility in summer and autumn the fitting curve was nonlinear, but in other two seasons the fitting curve was a linear one.
