Geothermal resources, as the second biggest clean energy, have caught more andmore attention along with the increase of the environmental problems. Tibet is themost active place of geothermal activity with the richest geothermal reserve of highdevelopment value.Dora Kamiyama Spring, located in the vicinity of Bai Ma Town, Ba Su County, was drilled in October,2013. The well depth is1900m, water yields256m3/d, andwellhead temperature is42℃. In order to have a sound knowledge of Bai Ma TownSpring and provide scientific basis for its development and utilization, this paperstudied its geological origin and headwaters.Geothermal resources in Dora Kamiyama, Bai Ma Town, wasprospected bygeological survey, combined with remote geology interpretation, soil Radonconcentration measurement and ultra-low electromagnetic detection. Well positionwas determined and Dora Kamiyama Spring was successfully prospected withdirectional inclined technology adopted under particular condition.Geological structure and latent structrecharateristics, especially for the essentialfeature, mutual relationship and distribution of fault zonein the area of Bai Ma Town,Basu County, were ascertained.Groundwater in this region mainly consists of bedrock fissure water andcarbonate rock cranny karst water with the help of geophysical method and regionalstratum and hydrogeology information. Therestratum were divided: LowerCretaceous-Upper Tertiary; Mid-JurrasicShankar la Commission group and Maligroup. This study demonstrates that latent structure was widespread, orthogonal oroblique with the Baqu-Dongcun structure line and Wagong-Tietong fault, forming acomplex but regular fault system, which controlled the migration and assemblage ofgroundwater HCO3-SO4-Na was the main type of groundwater in this region with themost bulk of Na+and HCO3-and SO42-. Fluorine concentration was higher, rangingbetween3.76-5.78mg/L. On the basis of "geologic exploration standard ofgeothermal resources"(GB/T11615-2010), to evaluate the Bai Ma town of springwater: trace elements in Bai Ma town of hot spring water containing fluorine, bromine, metasilicate etc., has high medical value, but can not be used directly as drinkingwater. The study area of water is mainly meoric water; heat rely mainly on the regionalheat flow normal supply and maintenance, Buyu spa or participate in the deep heat source; hot sorings in this area has the fouling phenomenon, its composition iscalcium carbonate, is corrosive to equipment, not suitable for long distance pipelineutilization. The geothermal system of Bai Ma town area belongs to the low mediumtemperature geothermal system of convection type, the causes of the following: DoraKamiyama: hot springs and Saiquka spa is a deeperr heat reservoir, formed in thenormal regional geothermal background, rely on terrestrial heat supply andmaintenance, water supply in both mountain of U shaped Valley, atmosphericprecipitation along slit channel for deep cycle, and at the intersection of fracture inDora Kamiyama drainage area accumulation. Saiquka hot spring formed in the granitebody fracture zone which is closely related with the fault zone, it forms themechanism possibly has little to do with the deep heat flow, and groundwater on thedeep circulation heating. Buyu hot springs, Wangbei hot springs and Saiquka spabelongs to deep reservoir, which Buyu spa and Wangbei Springs formed in fault andfold belts, Buyu hot springs in hot springs, surface water into, in addition to thegeothermal gradient heating normal, there may be a deep hydrothermal participation.Bai Ma town of hot springs type variety, the water quality is well, groundwaterrecharge zone natural replenishment, the geographical position is superior, has goodprospects for exploration and development.
