Nuclear power plants are affected by the earthquake damage may lead to serioussecondary disasters construction projects, according to China’s relevant laws andregulations must be seismic safety evaluation. Seismic safety evaluation is based onthe earthquake and seismic geological environment and the construction site aroundthe site investigation, site surveys earthquake engineering geological conditions, acomprehensive evaluation of seismic geology, geophysics, seismic engineering andother disciplines of information and analysis and calculation, according to the projecttype, nature, the importance of science and engineering are given reasonablerequirements of the corresponding seismic ground motion parameters, as well as sitesof geological disasters in the earthquake prediction. The main content of the seismicsafety evaluation include: environmental engineering seismic activity venues andvenues around the area evaluation, seismic geological environmental assessment,identification of fault activity, seismic hazard analysis, design ground motionparameters to determine the seismic evaluation of geological disasters. NationalStandards "project site seismic safety evaluation " in the (GB17741-2005) has aexpressly provides that:"In the coverage area, the existing data can not determine theage of the known major fault activity, should be selected geophysical, geochemical,geological drilling and dating other means to carry out investigation." geophysicalmethods to detect precisely the areas covered by thick buried fault zone, one of theprincipal means of identification of fault activity.Earthquake safety assessment of nuclear power plants needs by means of theproposed site geology weeks of active fault area identification, but because nuclearpower plants will generally choose this particular case the coastal site, leading to atraditional geological methods are not directly part of the waters of the fault activityfor analysis, and therefore requires the use of geophysical methods in seismicexploration methods for marine seismic exploration near the site of the regional scope,proven seabed stratum structure and make the activity evaluation. Seismic explorationby artificial seismic waves after receiving change, obtained after data processing and inversion of geophysical parameters underground geological structure and lithology,geological, drilling, seismic and other data to be interpreted so as to overburden thepresumed location of the fault and the fault are there signs of disturbance, analysis offault activity and harmful.In this paper, seismic safety evaluation of nuclear power plant in Zhangzhouproject example, explores the waters of the specific methods used in seismicexploration seismic safety evaluation in order to illustrate the importance ofgeophysical methods for seismic safety evaluation of the project site selection andrelated work and applicability.
