With the advancement of economic growth in demand and the progress of oilexploration, drilling and mining technology, radiographic inspection is increasingly used inseveral aspects of the oil well logging technology. The paper focuses on the complex situationof underground mining of oil and gas layer, using the X-ray detection medium identificationtechnology, its purpose is to develop a kind of miniaturization, low radiation, artificialcontrollable, safe, reliable and continous operation of underground medium identificationsystem prototype, so as to guide the extractive strategy formulation and protect reservoir, eventually improve the recovery factor. In this paper, the underground strata material as the research object, according to theattenuation law of X-ray and its interaction with matter, choosing the W target fluorescenttube of characteristic spectrum for58.87keV and Mo target fluorescent tube for17.44keV toproduce two kinds of energy X-ray, thereby adopting the high and low energy X-raytransmission technique to eliminate the influence of thickness on medium identification. Themain research work is concentrated on designing and debugging of the hardware circuit andsoftware program in the medium identification system. The systematic hardware circuitmainly includes: preamplifier circuit, main amplifying circuit, filter circuit, peak holdingcircuit, DSP peripheral circuit; the systematic software include: main program, A/Dacquisition program, multi-channel addressing program, data storage and transmissionprogram, and finally draw the X-ray energy spectrum.Base on the development of the medium identification system, build the indoorsimulation experiment platform and carried out a large number of experiments. Analyzing theexperimental data shows that the medium identification system has achieved a certaindistinction of medium identification, laying a solid foundation for later well experiment.
