Seismic exploration is the commonly used in the oil geophysical exploration technology, asthe "eyes" of seismic exploration, seismic geophone is located in front of seismic informationcollection parts in the seismic exploration, its importance is self-evident. Sensitivity, naturalfrequency and damping ratio is the most important three technical indicators of seismicgeophone, its good or bad directly affects the detector performance.This paper studies the seismic geophone internal structure and principle, then the authorestablished the mathematical model of seismic geophone. Then summarized the vibration tablemethod, dc excitation method and ac excitation method three kinds of traditional testingmethods and their advantages and disadvantagesIn allusion to the larger damping ratio seismic geophone test, the author points out that thetraditional test method on testing damping ratio is obtained by using the second peak voltagewhose value of signal to noise ratio is low, so the accuracy of the test is low. The basis ofpredecessors’ improvement program, this paper proposes a new improvement method, namelythe ratio of the two time is used to calculate damping ratio. This method avoids the use of lowsignal to noise ratio of the second peak voltage, so as to improve the damping ratio of the largedamping detector test precision.Further the author from the theory analysis the error of testing damping ratio and naturalfrequency in this method testing is small, and the feasibility of this method is verified by theexperiments.
