Qinshui coalbed methane field located in central and southern Shanxi, had thecoalbed methane resource about3.95trillion m3. The southern field takes explorationof the coalbed methane since the earlier1990. Because it’s rich in coalbed methane,so it has the big potential for exploration. Now the field is the advantage place forexploration, which aslo the important place in the whole nation. But the reservoir hasthe characteristic of low pressure, low permeability, low degree of saturation, highheterogeneity, which bring the difficulty in exploration. Due the affection of highheterogeneity, different wellblock in same area has various hydrocarbon showing, permeability and production. The study focus on the characteristic of the reservoir inQinshui coalbed methane field, collect basic data and previous research results. Thenset up the relationship between the caliper curve and the coal body structure accordingto the former data, study the drilling process, which contain drilling fluid system, drilling fluid density, immersion time of the formation, coal quality and the geologicalstructure. Using log, seismic, core to divide the lithology profile, set the standardprofile for stratigraphic correlation. There is a conclusion that through the research ofsedimentary facies and the coal facies in the area of Zhengzhuang,. The gasproduction for the single well has obvious relationship with structure in Fanzhuangarea through the study of reservoir structure. There also study the hydrodynamic fieldof Zhengzhuang area, divide the water zone according to the development of the fault. Then set up the evaluation standard of the reservoir through the developmentcharacteristic of the cleat crack, fine water zone.
