Etuoke Banner is located in the southwest of Ordos Plateau,Inner Mongolia.(106°43′ ~108°54′ E, 38°18′ ~40°11′ N) Uxin Banner in the east,Wuhai and Ningxia Taole County in the west, Etuoke Front Banner in the south, Hanggin Banner and Dengkou County in the north. Under natural disasters and man-made unreasonable development, the degradation of grassland seriously threatens the local economic development and ecological security. Under the call of the National West Development, Etuoke Banner began to carry out large-scale animal husbandry from grass ecological engineering from 2002, in order to further understand the ecological engineering benefit of the animal husbandry in this area. In this paper, based on remote sensing data and ground data, and the linear trend analysis, correlation analysis and superposition analysis were used to analyzed the vegetation temporal and spatial variation, variation of different vegetation types, ecological engineering characteristic analysis, effect of ecological engineering on vegetation change, the impact of climate on vegetation changes and the effect of terrain factor on vegetation after the implementation of animal husbandry from grass ecological engineering in Etuoke Banner. The results show that:1、Temporal variation of vegetationFrom 2000-2013 annual average NDVI change can be known, Slop e of linear regression equation slope>0, the vegetation NDVI showed a n increasing trend, and at an annual rate of 0.0046, it means the growt h of vegetation is generally good. Especially in 2012, the vegetation N DVI showed the highest value, 0.335, the vegetation cover is good; the ecological environment quality is improving constantly.2、Spatial variation of vegetationThe spatial distribution of NDVI was mainly between 0.2-0.4 and 0-0.2, located in the central and southern parts of the Etuoke Banner. There were different spatial distribution trends in the high density region of the aboveground biomass in different years. Among them, the vegetation in 2002 and 2012 was significantly better than the other years, the area of the total area of 87.79% and 73.54%.3、Variation of different vegetation typesFrom different vegetation types of NDVI variation trends of the year statistics, after the implementation of animal husbandry from grass ecological engineering, the vegetation restoration showed better results. From the sand, desert, typical steppe, desert steppe and meadow grassland, etc. five species of the type of rate of view, The rate of the meadow grassland was 0.0055/a, The rate of desert grassland and grassland desertification increased with the increase of 0.0047/a and 0.0034/a, and the trend of vegetation improvement was obvious.4、Ecological engineering characteristic analysisFrom 2002, Etuoke banner has Arbas hematoxylin, Mengxi Town, Qipanjing Town, Su Mi Tu Su mu, Wulan town and MOCA Nur town in the implementation of the returning grazing land to grassland ecosystem engineering, the total area is 700478.76 ha. Among them, from 2002 to 2012(not including 2003) the implementation of returning grazing land to grassland project in the area were ha 60408.83, ha 81883.94, 90654.67 ha, 156600.02 ha, 64814.33 ha, 87175.59 ha, 80007.94 ha, 74492.66 ha, 4241.48 ha and 199.30 ha. Along with the implementation of animal husbandry and grassland ecological project, the area of the back grazing area of the grass area of the grass area shows a downward trend. Note that the restoration of the ecological area in the increase.5、Effect of ecological engineering on Vegetation ChangeBefore the implementation of animal husbandry and grassland in 2007, In the engineering area, there are 61.51% of the total area of the engineering area, and the area of the decreasing trend is 38.49%. After the implementation of animal husbandry and grassland ecological project in 2007, The proportion of the region product is 82.82%. The proportion of the increasing trend area is greatly increased than before the project. It showed that, the implementation of pasture ecological engineering had obvious effect in Etuoke Banner.6、The impact of climate on vegetation changesFrom the correlation of climate factor analysis, the relationship between NDVI and precipitation in growing season was significantly positive(R=0.639,P=0.01), and with the temperature was negatively positive(R=-0.622,P=0.38). The area of the average NDVI and precipitation in the growing season was much larger than the area of the negative correlation(which accounted for 94.31% of the total area of the study area). The area of the total area of the study area was about 61.05% of the total area, while the area of the negative correlation was more than the area of the total area(96.88% of the total area of the study area). On the whole, the precipitation is the most influence factor to the large areas of vegetation growth in Otuoke Bannet,while the temperature in a certain extent limits the growth of vegetation.7、The effect of terrain factor on vegetationThere is a correlation between NDVI and slope. The lower the altitude, the better growth of vegetation, and while the slowly slope is good for growth of vegetation. While the correlation between slope and NDVI was not obvious. Especially from the correlation between slope and NDVI, it can be considered that there is almost no correlation between of them.
