Analysis Of Genetically Modified Technology Under The Perspective Of Laudan’s Scientific Rationality

Genetically Modified technology,which was always concerned by governments and scientists since the advent is in the debate.Nowadays,the research on genetically modified technology has been exploring from two aspects of natural science and social science.This article tries to explore the genetically modified technology from the perspective of philosophy,which regard Laudan’s theory of scientific rationality as scientific theoretical basis, in order to provide a scientific measure tool for rationality and irrationality of genetically modified technology.Form the philosophical perspective,comprehensive analysis to advantages and disadvantages of genetically modified technology of natural science and social science perspective,which get a reasonable reasult,and to provide a new perspective in order to explore the rationality of genetically modified technology,further.In the process of creation and writing of this article the author use the three kinds of research methods: literature research;Inductive analysis method;The method of combining the theory with practice.In this paper,starting from the introduction part,the author elaborate the article’s selection basis,then introduce the research methods and research purposes.moreover,The author analyzed the research status at home and abroad,and discussed research ideas and methods and the research question of this paper. First of all,the author affirmed genetically modified technology effectively dealing with food problem faced by human population since the advent.So people speak highly of the genetically modified technology,called “green revolution”. the genetically modified technology make the global agricultural production change profoundly,and make people see the hope to eliminate hunger and poverty.At the same time, the genetically modified damage the food chain and change the structure of ecological environment.what’s more,the people eat the genetically modified food being able to make the genetically modified DNA into human cells,pathogenic viruses. Due to the random insertion site,may cause harmful or lethal effects,including cancer have unpredictable effects on human beings.In a word,regardless of both here and abroad,the study of the genetically modified can be divided into two aspects: one is from the perspective ofnatural science,another is from the perspective of social science. Judgment of the genetically modified technology only capture a point of some one or a few aspects,which is one-sided. From the perspective of two different aspects of comparison,there is not a judge standard or value point, thus rationality and irrationality of the genetically modified technology has debated.Rationality and irrationality have been in a game state. This article tries to explore the genetically modified technology from the perspective of philosophy,which regard Laudan’s theory of scientific rationality as basis and The breakthrough point,according to the thinking of analysis and solving problems, to deeply analyze the rationality of the genetically modified food.Secondly, inductive argument of gm technology rationality and irrationality of cognitive perspective,and then use the Laudan’s Scientific Rationality advantages and limitations to differentiate the rationality and irrationality, so that genetically modified technology arguments put forward a scientific system of evaluation criteria and measure tool. The second part of this paper is the article second chapter,include the definitions of related theory, science, rationality and diversity of scientific rationality. Thus led to the study of scientific rationality, there are at least three different points of view for a long time: represented concept by logical positivism and falsificationism,represented history concept by Kuhn and feyenoord,represented new history concept by Laudan.though these the theories of induction and comparison,raised reflections on the theory of science rationality. In the third chapter,the author discussed the interface problem of scientific philosophy and technological philosophy.This paper regard Kuhn as the cut-off point that divide old scientific philosophy and new scientific philosophy,that is the scientific practice philosophy.From the interface of interpretation model,the interface of theory tradition basis on the tool realism and the homogeneity of problem solving activities and experimental view,the author discuss the coupling of the Landan’s scientific philosophy theory and Practice primacy.Its purpose is to solve Laudan scientific rationality theory to apply the philosophical problems of the technology of genetically modified. Thereafte, by referencing the scientific philosopher laudan put forward to solve the problem as the core of the scientific rationality of pattern,Form the tool rationalism perspective,the genetically modified technology can solve the practical problems, so it’s called reasonable.And reference mesh model,deduce rationality that shift from traditional crops to genetically modified crops, which are interlinked on the usefulness and truthfulness in this view. Genetically modified technology because of its usefulness as a reasonable being correct.But science to achieve the target is far more than the levelto solve the problem.The genetically modified technology’ultima goal only pursue practical value, and ignore human existence and development of the real and potential, direct and indirect, long-term influence.
