Zhaoping fault is one of three biggest faults in Northwest Jiaodong. About 80% of gold deposits in Jiaodong are controlled by the faults in Northwest. There must be some special regional geological background and ore-controlling regularity. Linglong gold deposit, Dayingezhuang gold deposit, Xiadian gold deposit and Xiejiagou gold deposit are located in Zhaoping fault. This paper summarize the ore type, fabric characteristics, mineral types, occurrencce of gold and wall rock alteration. This paper collect the geochemical data of the four gold deposits, study the chronology, major elements, trace elements and rare earth elements. The chronology characteristics shows that the age of gold deposits are between 110~130Ma, the gold deposits of Zhaoping fault are influenced by the same crustal evolution and geotectonic background. The study of major elements indicates that all the samples have the characteristics of high potassium, poor titanium and phosphorus, peraluminous and calc-alkaline. The trace elements shows that the samples have variety of metallogenic material, and maybe came from crust-mantle mixed material. The characteristics of rare earth elements shows that all the samples are rich in LREE and depleted in HREE. Accordingly to the geochemical characteristics, petrogenesis and formation environment are discussed, the relation between petrogenesis of Early Yanshan Movements and Late Yanshan mineralization are close relationship. The gold deposits of Zhaoping fault fromed under the background of compressional orogenic belts. This paper summarize the ore-controlling regularity. The strong movements of Tanlu fault zone and north china plate in mesozoic, pacific plate subduction into eurasia influenced on the Zhaoping fault. The Yanshan Movement and the formation of gold deposits in Zhaoping have close relationship. The age of mineralization and vein rock are the same sometimes, and they formed in the same place, they also have the same sources. All the factors show that vein rock can be a prospecting criteria.
