The Characteristic And Its Application Of Citation Network And Hot Topic Network

The complex network is one of the most important interdisciplinary researches. The citationnetwork and the micro-blog network are two significant research models in complex networks.Currently, as a spontaneous form of scientific networks, the citation network is beingtaken into consideration by some researchers. Some researches show that the network ofliterature references has characteristics of small world and scale-free. Studying in the citationnetwork is better to identify papers’ scientific value and academic influence. An improved BAmodel is built in this article with PageRank algorithm which can obtain the fitness of nodes.Finally, the theoretical derivation and an example of citation network with high-energy physicsare given. The results show that, the BA model proposed in this article is better than the classicalBA model in the citation network.As the one of the most open networks and the most active regions, the micro-blog has becomea major media center. A time-varying model is built with the variational external field strengthwhich can simulate the topic propagation process. This model also fits for the multimodal events.The experiment data is collected from the Sina Micro-blog from Oct2012to Nov2012and Jan2013to Feb2013, such as "Lihai Yuan Adopting","PM2.5, Haze","Diaoyu Islands"," Mo Yanwon the Nobel Prize". The mean square error is less than0.04, which shows that our models canpredict the trend of hot topic efficiently.According to the definition of opinion leaders proposed by Paul Lazarsfeld, opinion leadersshould be very active and have much influence in some topics. Some model are built to unearthand analyze the attribute values of opinion leaders in this article, such as AHP model andTOPSIS model based on the influence, the support and the activity of a node, Microblog-Rankalgorithm based on the weighted undirected network, HITS algorithm based on the weighteddirected network. And then the experiments are performed with the same data from Sinamicro-blog, it shows that the opinion leaders we found are reasonable.Our works about citation networks and hot topic networks are new research areas. We believethat it is significative to complex network. Simultaneously, many problems are put forward forfurther studies in the future.
