It has been proved that microRNAs can regulate many physiologic processes and metabolism pathways, though binding to the3’UTR of their target genes. Recent years, a large number of researches have reported the important function of microRNAs. It has been known that microRNA-181has a widely roles in different physiological and pathological development. We all know that miR-181can regulate the differentiation of immune cells, inflammation response, viral resistance and immunoregulation. Besides, miR-181can also regulate the differentiation of cancer cells, promote apoptosis, inhibit cell proliferation. In this paper, we forced on the relationship between miR-181a and lipid metabolism. We proved that miR-181a can target IDH gene to regulate the lipid metabolism, promoting the P-oxidation and inhibiting the synthesis of fatty acids. Overexpressing the miR-181a in mouse can lead to the decrease of the weight, but not induce the cancer or death. As a result, miR-181a can regulate the lipid metabolism, which can be as a method to cure many diseasese, including hyperlipemia and atherosclerosis.
