The loess hills gentle slope in northwestern shanxi is the all province’s ecological environment frangible zone. The natural forest vegetation in the Qing Dynasty was gone in this area, together with the restriction of climate factors on plant growth effect and the adverse impact of the modern human activities form the status of regional species resources deprivation and ecosystem degradation.According to a preliminary analysis, the ecosystem degradation features on the loess hills gentle slope in northwestern shanxi mainly include four respects:The first is the natural environment of unsustainable for the reason of the climate instability; The second is human excessive interference leads to the difficulty of natural vegetation recovery; The third is a low service value of ecosystem function characterized by extreme debilitating; The fourth is the high frequency of desertification phenomenon caused by the soil erosion. On this basis, we believe that wind erosion and desertification is the serious problem on secological, and puts forward the major technology way to control of wind erosion and desertification and five technical measures of ecological restoration suitable for this area. The key technology and innovation of this study displays in:①systematically analyzed the causes and characteristics of the regional ecological degradation, put forward five technical measures to ecological restoration;②found out the types of vegetation resources of research areas, evaluate suitability of position environment of existing planted forest;③put forward the principle of "comfortable water comfortable tree" species select of vegetation restoration building and natural succession and artificial restoration conjointly method of vegetation restoration and construction;④test study quantitative indicators of water and sediment reduction effect of biological crust.
