Since Cutoff grade is the main basis of ringing ore body, the determination of cutoff grade directly affect the morphology, the average grade of ore body and ore reserves. Reasonable determination of the cutoff grade determines the economic benefits of mines and the effective utilization of mineral resources.Since the rapid development of research and technology of "digital mine", a lot of mines have been digitalized by means of digital mine software. The application of3D model in cutoff grade optimization can speed up the decision-making process in mines, realize the dynamic management of mine production, improve the effective utilization of resources.A mathematical model of integrated cutoff grade was deduced based on the traditional profit and loss balance method taking the value of associate elements into account in this paper. The model gave the way of a new theory system for optimization research of multi-metal deposits. Then, aiming at the problems existing in the static model of cutoff grade optimization, the time value of capital was analyzed. Taking the maximization of the cumulative net present value as an index, gave the way of research thinking for determining the optimal cutoff gradeShaxi copper mines are with low copper grade and high associate elements. Taking it as an example, this paper determined break-even cutoff grade according to market price, mining cost parameters, got the grade area, studied the ore body of different grade based on the reasonable step. The value of ore body were estimated on the basis of discounted cash flow method and estimation results verified the effectiveness of the optimization model of the critical value, determined the optimal cutoff grade taking the maximization of the cumulative net present value as an index.
