In the recent years, the economy of China continuously and rapidly grows and the demand to the coal is growing, so it requires the increases in coal mining to meet the needs. Due to the Middle NO.6mining area Renlou coal mine’s complicated geological structure, it is necessary to find out the objective law of its geological structure and make a quantitative evaluation on geological structural complexity to bring up reliable geological mate-rials for the coal mine production plan, the reasonable selection of mining method and mining equipment.Through analyzing the data obtained from geological exploration and mining, and emphatically analyzed the mining area’s geological-tectonic conditions including the faults; the characteristics of fault complex; the folds and the development regularity of karst collapse pillar. And summarized its geologic structure rule, analyzed and made tectonic stress field retrieval. At last, a quantitative evaluation on geological structural complexity of the Middle NO.6mining area Renlou coal mine was made. As to the research work, followings were concluded:1.By analyzing the geological structure of the Middle NO.6mining area, came to the conclusions that the fold was a monoclinal structure; it has a fault development and most of them were normal faults just with two reverse faults. The fault strike had an obvious directionality, main of them were NE fault-group, NW fault-group, NWW fault-group or nearly EW fault-group. The fault dip changed with regularity. On the planes faults manly had the oblique type and radial fault-group. On the profile, the graben, the host and the trapezium combined were the main combination mode of the faults.2.According to the analysis on the structure forming period and the paleo-tectonic stress fields of the Middle NO.6mining area, its tectonic framework was a result came from the multistage tectonization (Indo-Chinese epoch, Yanshan period).3.Logging curves were used to explain the tectonic coal of72coal, the tectonic coal’s macro-characteristics were compared and the distribution law of the tectonic coal was analyzed to the conclusion that tectonic coal of72coal had a development.4.As to the comparison, the fault fractal values, the fault density, the fault intensity, the fold living space coefficient and the tectonic coal thickness were used as indexes in using a grey and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model to make a quantitative evaluation on geological structural complexity of the Middle NO.6mining area. And according to the evaluation results, structure-complexity degree zoning chart of72coal was compiled to the conclusion that main of the structure-complexity degree of72coal had a simple structural development; some had an intermediate complex and a complex structural development and had no complex structures. As a whole, the72coal had a lower structural complexity.
