The Devonian’s Sedimentary Characteristics And The Evolutioan Of Lithofacies Paleogeographic Environment In Durham Area Of Hefeng County In Xinjiang

Through the identification and analysis of field profile observation, actual measurementand paleontology in Durham area of Hefeng County in Xinjiang, this thesis closely studies itsdevelopment characteristics of strata, sedimentary characteristics, sedimentary facies andlithofacies paleographic characteristics, combining with previous data on regional geology.Then it discusses the evolution of Devonian’s lithofacies paleogeography in the research area.By analyzing the sedimentary characteristics of rock types, rock and mineralcharacteristics, sedimentary structure, fossil assemblages and so on, the Devonian in theresearch area can be divided into three sedimentary facies: delta facies, littoral facies andneritic facies, and four sedimentary subfacies: delta plain facies, coastal tidal flat facies,coastal shoreface facies, and neritic shelf facies. And the map of sedimentary facies has beendrawn.This thesis draws three lithofacies paleographic maps of early, middle and late stages toreflect the evolution of Devonian’s lithofacies paleogeographic environmentthrough lithofacies paleography analysis of lithologic assemblages and fossil assemblages’characteristics of the Devonian in Durham area.
