Lacertilia belongs to Reptilia, Squamata, Sauria. According to reports, there are9species of lizards inHenan Province which belong to6genera4families. They are Gekko swinhonis, Eremias argus, E.brenchleyi, Takydromus septentrionalis, Eumeces elegans, E. capito, Sphenomrphus indicus, Japalurasplendida and J. micangshanensis. This thesis tries to study the morphology and phylogenetic relationshipof lizard in Henan Province.1. Morphological analysisTo identified morphological taxonomy,8traits of168specimens were measured with highmagnification section mirror, results showed that:①168specimens belonged to7species,5genera,4families, which were G. swinhonis, E. argus, E. brenchleyi, T. septentrionalis, E. elegans, S. indicus and J.micangshanensis.②The same species of different geographical populations existed differences in themorphological characteristics.2. Phylogenetic relationshipMitochondrial ND2genes from26samples (5species,5genera,4families) in Henan Province weresequenced, a total of808bp. Our resluts showed that:①The genetic distances of intraspecific were0.000~0.131, the intergeneric genetic distances were0.401~0.406, and interfamily genetic distances were0.441~0.666.②The topologies of MP, ML and BI were basically consistent based on ND2gene sequenceswith Shinisaurus crocodilurus as outgroup were basically consistent, which were divided into clade A andB. Clade A consists of G. swinhonis(A1) and J. micangshanensis (A2), which were clustered together witha lower bootstrap and posterior probability. Clade B consists of clade B1and clade B2. E. argus and T.septentrionalis were firstly clustered together with a very high bootstrap and posterior probability (B1), andthen clustered with S. indicus (B2) as a sister group. Our results failed to solve classification problems ofLacertilia.
