Grassland ecosystem as an important component of the terrestrial ecosystem,but also is an important carbon store, and plays an important role in the global carbon cycle and climate regulation. The carbon density study is paid more and more attention by human beings. We exactly know about grassland ecosystem carbon storage has important meaning to estimate vegetation and soil carbon storage ability in different grassland type and judge carbon sink,carbon source, rational exploitation grassland resources and study terrestrial ecosystem carbon cycle. According to field investigation and observation, the12kinds of main coenotype of Hulunbeir typical grassland(Artemisia frigida+Cleistogenes squarrosa (ArC)、Leymus chinensis (L)、Artemisia halodendron+Cleistogenes squarrosa (AC)、Cleistogenes squarrosa+Stipa grandis (CS)、Artemisia halodendro+Leymus chinesis (AL)、Leymus chinesis+Carex duriuscula (LC)、Stipa krylovii+Cleistogenes squarrosa (SC)、Agropyron cristatum+Leymus chinensis (AgL)、Polygonum lapathifolium (PZ)、Stipa grandis+Cleistogenes squarrosa (StC)、Carex duriuscula+Stipa grandis (CaS)、Allium polyrrhizum+Stipa grandis (AS)), and the typical distribution as the object of study to analysis biomass, soil organic carbon content and volume weight of soil, based on that calculate vegetation living layer,earth surface litter layer,vegetation underground carbon density,soil organic carbon density and total carbon density correlation analysis.The results show:1. In the study area, the vegetation living layer,earth surface litter layer,vegetation underground and total biomass of the12kinds of coenotype is between91.12g/m2~286.82g/m2、24.40g/m2~124.76g/m2、 282.60g/m2~1233.44g/m2and409.40g/m2~1545.22g/m2. the vegetation underground biomass significantly reduces with the soil layer from top to bottom.2. Vegetation living layer, earth surface litter layer,vegetation underground carbon density and soil organic carbon density of12kinds of coenotype respectively is45.56g/m2~143.41g/m2、12.20g/m2~62.38g/m2、41.30g/m2~616.72g/m2and490g/m2~4600g/m2. Vegetation underground carbon density and soil organic carbon density are decrease with the increase of soil depth,and mainly collected in the surface layer. In different coenotype vegetation underground carbon density distribution,the soil layer of0~10、10~20、20~30and30~40cm respectively account for8.50%~62.23%、17.22%~21.03%.10.88%~13.31%and7.32%~8.22%; in soil organic carbon density,the soil layer of0~10、10~20、20~30and30~40cm respectively account for25.00%~41.67%、20.83%~37.35%、13.25%~26.12%and11.75%~24.78%, the soil organic carbon density shows highly significant positive correlation with soil organic carbon content.3. In the study area, the total carbon density of12kinds of coenotype is1262.61g/m2~4941.78g/m2, in every group distribution,soil organic carbon density occupies the hightest proportion is between38.81%and93.08%,the total carbon density is relate to every part of carbon density,and shows highly significant positive correlation with soil organic density.
