As a country with a lot of sea resources, China should research and develop morekind of water craft to protect and use the resources. The researching about thepropulsion system is very important for the researching about the ship. The propellerpropulsion system, water jet propulsion system and air jet propulsion system are themain ways for the underwater propulsion. But the limit of single power makes itimpossible to supply enough propulsion in some special circumstances, such assheering off and changing speed immediately. Although some scholars is researchingtwo phase flow jet propulsion system, the power still only come from hot air.Based on water jet propulsion, air jet propulsion and traditional air-liquid jetpropulsion, this paper expounded a new method for jet propulsion named doublepower sources underwater air-liquid two-phase jet propulsion.Simulations and analyses about underwater water jet propulsion with positiveplacement pump, underwater air jet propulsion and underwater air-liquid two-phasejet propulsion are carried out by using the software named Fluent. It is proved that thepropulsion produced by water sucking of positive placement pump is8.5%of thepropulsion produced by water jet propulsion system with positive placement pump. The method of mixing and jet of high pressure air and high pressure water isconfirmed. The method jetting high pressure water from the first nozzle is confirmed. Some simulations and analyses are also carried out to improve that the method isviable. The test-bed is designed to test the propulsion produced by different kinds ofjet propulsion systems. The design of key component is introduced. The test dataacquisition and processing system is designed by using the software named LabWindows/CVI.
