Gansu Zhuanglang-Jingning iron ore deposit is located in the transition zone of theeastern mountain in Gansu province and the Loess Plateau, belongs to Eastern Qilian Orogen.Most of the area is covered by loess, only in the deep gully a small amount of sporadicbedrock is exposed, over the years, prospecting doesn’t has big breakthrough. The iron oreindicates that the ore prospecting in the area has good prospects. Take the iron ore deposit asthe object of study, summarized study on the metallogenic characteristics and metallogenicregularity and prospecting direction discuss have important theoretical and practicalsignificance to promote ore prospecting of Gansu loess covering area in Eastern oreprospecting.Collected a series of research results of Qilian orogenic belt (East) in recent years, andthe combinated existing data of mining area,the metallogenic geological background of thisdeposit was summed up; Through the identification of rock slice, Harker graphic analysis,feature parameter calculation etc., studies of the ultrabasic rock mass characteristics andpetrological characteristics, basic rock geochemical characteristics, and mafic minerals andmineralization was acquired, so as to build the geological characteristics of mineralization inthis area; According to the geological features of existing, the ore controlling factors for themining area was achieved and the genetic type of the deposit was determined.According to the actual demand in the future prospecting direction, based on thecomparison about domestic deposits of the same type, combined with magnetic anomaliesand geological characteristics, the ore prospecting direction was reached.
