The electromagnetic scattering problems are important research issues in the study of civilian andmilitary target characteristics, and the high efficiency algorithm is always a hot research area incomputational electromagnetics(CEM). In recent years, with the continuous development of hardwaretechnologies, a new type of electromagnetism solution platform-The Graphics ProcessingUnit(GPU),is causing widespread attention at home and abroad. This thesis applies two representative electromagnetism methods to the GPU: the low frequencyfull wave MoM and high frequency approximate PO. Among them, the CUDA and OpenGL areadopted. The detail research work and contributions are as follows:(1) The theoretical derivations of EFIE, MFIE, CFIE for solving the scattering field of perfectelectric conductors and PMCHW formulation for solving the scattering field of perfectdielectric medium.(2) The theory of PO is researched, and the scattering field is deduced from Stratton-Chuformulation and with the reference of and Gordon algorithm. A kind of efficient graphicalgorithm is applied to the visible facets detection, which is the surface area heuristic(SAH)algorithm based on MacDonald-Booth best cost function for building KdTree.(3) The CFIE for solving the scattering field of perfect electric conductors accelerated by GPU isrealized. The PMCHW formulation for solving the scattering field of perfect dielectric mediumaccelerated by GPU is proposed. In ideal conditions, the computational complexities ofimpedance filling and iteration solving could reduced fromO (N2)to O (1)and O (N)fortraditional MoM.(4) The GPU based application of PO is realized. The visibilities of the facets are determined bythe value of the rendering picture pixels through Z-buffer algorithm by OpenGL.
