Quantum cascade laser using electron injection to work, and the electron can be used in many cascades. So it has much superiority, such as high power, wide turning range、 high gain. Quantum cascade laser is gradually replacing the traditional laser in some areas. We apply quantum cascade to the detection of infrared spectrum, and made it to detect some material’s infrared spectrum efficiently.This paper discussed how the laser device produce laser、how the laser signal modulate, how to get the data and processing with these data when applying the laser to generate laser spectrum. I also do experiments to test one type of laser device, and got to know the wave number of this laser, measured the threshold current, the relationship between the current and the output power, these works can be helpful for our laboratory. And I also try to measure the saturation spectrum of SO2by the quantum cascade laser, try to measure the wavelength of this quantum cascade laser, but failed. In the last chapter, I introduced how do the rotations devices work in the laser ablation experiment, these devices were designed by us.
