Analysis on Roger Bacon’s science thoughtRoger Bacon’s science thought mainly contains mathematics thinking, optic thinking and experimental science thinking. Roger Bacon did not make strict definition on the science which he had recognized and researched. He only classified it and called it "science". Of course, this "science" was not modern science, but the science’s definition at that time. From the point of his view, he had not realized that he has gone to the field of modern science. His science thought had possessed the form of modern science though with deeply background of theology and philosophy in his times.This article can be divided into6sections. The first section is introduction. The introduction discusses the meanings of selecting this task and the situation about the research of Roger Bacon in the historical filed and briefly introduces the books that have been cited. The second section discusses the historical background of the generation of Roger Bacon’s science thought and his life with his ideology. Roger Bacon’s science thought played in the background of scholasticism, so it is necessary to learn the situation of scholasticism and the society at that time if we want to make research on his science thought. Besides Roger Bacon’s science thought, there are his language study and moral study and so on. The third section discuses his mathematics thought which is divided into two parts. Part one introduces the math achievements and thinking before Roger Bacon’s times which is his mathematics thought’s pavement. Next part introduces his math thought. Roger Bacon didn’t make any achievement in this domain. However he provided a system of ideas on math. The core of this contains two aspects. One aspect is that math comes into being relatively with the other "sciences". If there is no mathematics, other "science" can not be found. The other aspect is that celestial and terrestrial things can not depart with math. Section four discusses his optic thought and contains two parts. The first part introduces the optics’development before13century and the theory of optics which is the foundation of Roger Bacon’s optics thinking. The second and the third part discuss his optics’content and theology which relate to it. His optics theory contains human perceptions’generation, classification and functions. And that also contains the structure of human eyes, contains the physical theory of light. More importantly, there is theology on light. The essential and main expression of his optical thinking is human perceptions and the theology of light. The fifth section discusses his experimental science thought and contains two parts. Part one introduces two definitions about "science". So that we can comprehend the "sciences" he had said. Part two mainly deal with discussing his experimental science. Roger Bacon was the first man to use experimental science in the history. He made full expression on the significance of experimental science, which was the same with the demand of modern science. The sixth section touched upon the themes that how to view his science thought and achievement and how to make proper comment. We should give both considerations on his achievement and his defects. But the achievement is most important, which is worth to be given positive comment.There are three important meanings through deeply analyzing Roger Bacon’s science thought. First, we can deeply realize the relationship between theology and science at that time by analyzing his science thought. Second, though analyzing his science thought, we can understand the state of arising in modern science thinking, which would help people make deeper understanding on modern science. Third, research on science thought in the domain of medieval history of our state has made the first step only. The author want to attract more attention of scholars through analyzing science thought. Then it would do more contribute on enlarging the field of medieval historical search.
