Analysis Of The Promotion Of Chinese International Trade By FDI-inflow

It is a real fact that China has maintained faster economic growth for more than 20 years since the outset of economic reform programs in the early of 1980s. In Chinese economic growth the international trade plays an important part.This study intends to examine the promotion of Chinese international trade by FDI-inflow. Last year, the amount of Chinese international trade has reached 1422.12 billion dollar. And the totally amount of FDI-inflow has reached 560.00 billion dollar. The FDI-inflow has obviously promoted Chinese international trade. The promotion is come true through two ways, the direct and the indirect ways. In the direct promotion, there are three factors. First, the foreign invested enterprises have expanded the scale of Chinese international trade. In 2005, 58.30%of Chinese international trade was created by foreign invested enterprises. Second, the FDI-inflow has improved the pattern of Chinese imports and exports. Now 90.00%of Chinese export is made up of manufactured exports, and more than half of which is created by foreign enterprises. Third, FDI-inflow has strengthened the competition of Chinese international trade.Besides the direct promotion of Chinese international trade, FDI-inflow also has the indirect promotion of Chinese international trade. It has promotes the competition of the domestic enterprises in China, helps them to acquaint the principle in international trade. It also has the technology spillovers effect and the marketaccess spillovers effect.So this article has concluded that FDI-inflow has promoted the Chinese international trade.
