| I. The status and problems of the gas station net of CNPC in GuangzhouCNPC started to invest gas station in Guangzhou in 1998 aiming to expanding all over Guangdong province. During 7 years, the number of the stations has reached 34 from 0, which is 6 percent of that of big Guangzhou now. Accounting by districts of big Guangzhou, there are only 5 wholly-owned stations in center Guangzhou city and 5 rented stations in average in each town of Guangzhou such as Huadu, Panyu, Zengcheng and Conghua. The brief analyze of the distribution of all these stations lies as below:1. The locations are not good enough. One side, most stations are located beside national ways and suburb Baiyun district where the demand for gas is limited. The other side, there are few stations at center districts of Guanhzhou city such as Yuexiu, Dongshan or liwan where the demand for gas is very high.2. The density of the distribution is not balanced. For example, there is no station at center Conghua town at all. Some stations unwisely centralize along some town way.3. Due to the rapid investment expansion, some stations were over evaluated and now the expected return can hardly achieved.II.
