In recent years, the study of regional disparity has gradually become important in the world economic field. Our country is a big country, and regional disparities are particularly evident. Because the wide interval between price levels is very different, regional disparities affect the real calculations and many economic indicators accuracy. We use International Comparison Project (ICP project) PPP comes from the United Nations and put Shanghai area as a base to calculate the PPP of 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004. Then use the purchasing power parity to correct per capita GDP. On this basis, we get the Gini coefficient of new per capita GDP, and then use the average of five-year PPP to correct the per capita GDP. On this basis, calculate the Gini Coefficient, Standard Deviation and Variation Coefficient of per capita GDP in 2004 and compare the results of these indexes. It Shows that in 2004 the Gini coefficient are 0.32 before correction and 0.286 after correction. The former value is higher than the latter one. The margin is 0.0333. The Standard Deviation is 8366.9 before correcting and 8308.1 after correcting. The former value is higher than the latter one. The margin is 58.8. The Variation Coefficient is 0.63 before correcting and 0.54 after correcting. The former value is higher than the latter one. The margin is 0.09.It proves that the disparity of regional price level has important effect on the calculated result of regional disparity before, if we don't consider the disparity of regional price level between regions, the regional disparity can be overrated. This thesis uses the regional disparity theory and PPP theory comes from regional economic and financial theory. The main idea of this thesis is to re-correct the real disparity when other factors do not exist, for example, the Price Level, the price index and population statistical indicators. This article is composed of three parts apart from the preface and the summary:The first part, summarize the regional disparities theory. The first part introduces the indexes of the regional disparities and the methods of regional disparities calculation. For example, Gini Coefficient, Standard Deviation, Variation Coefficient, and so on. At last, sum up the study results. The second part, introduce the methodology. The second part mainly introduces the methods of calculation of GDP, the methods of Purchasing Power Parity and the methods of calculation of regional disparities. It mainly introduces the methods of Purchasing Power Parity and the indexes of regional disparities calculationThe third part, introduce the measurement of our regional disparities. The third part consists of three parts. Firstly, introduce the principle of sample selection and make the introduction of sample simply. Then make use of the data to calculate the PPP. At last, use the average of PPP to correct the per capita GDP and calculate the Gini coefficient, standard deviation, coefficient variation, and then compare these indexes to gain the conclusions.
