The existence of federalism in Canada allows the federal government and other provinces to have their own rights to set up trade barriers for the sake of each development of economy. But these barriers confine the ecdemic companies to enter the markets of each province and bring great cost to those companies. And at last the barriers have very bad effect on the economy of Canada. In order to solve these problems successfully, on July 18, 1994, First Ministers signed the Agreement on Internal Trade (AIT). This article mainly covers the cause and the contents of AIT, meanwhile deals with the progress and the effect of it. It should be noted that China also exists the similar trade barriers in different provinces. So we should use the successful experience of Canada for reference to adopt apt steps to found the single market.
