Foreign Direct Investment keeps flowing into China, which fosters China's economicgrowth. However, the social benefits that FDI brings to China aren't shared equally by eachregion and industrial class. They're inclined to flow into the eastern region which has goodeconomic foundation and the know-how intensive industries, but less to the western region andthe industries with low technology. FDI can boost the economic development and upgrade theindustrial structure, but it can't spread this kind of welfare to the western region, which widensChina's existing serious poor-rich gap. This thesis, from the angle of FDI's regional characterand industrial character, expounds the poor-rich gap caused by FDI. The concept of poor-richgap in this thesis includes the economic development gap among the eastern region, the middleand western regions, and the income gap among different industries which FDI involves in.
