Study On The Impact Of Port For Regional Economy Based On System Dynamics Model

Under the promotion of the economy globalization, the industrial transfer in the way of capital and technology develops all over the world. As the economy and the foreign trade develop fast, port transportation expands by leaps and bounds. The port is becoming more important in the national economy. The function of the port develops increasingly, which changes from the transportation node to the international trade centre. Therefore, it is significant to study on the economic impact of the port.At the first, this paper analyses the scope and type of the port activity and introduces the traditional theory and method by which the economic impact of the port is studied. Based on the analysis of the home and board port economy development practice, the paper put forwards the problems of port economy in China. The paper establishes port economy system which is port-oriented. The paper studies and identifies the causal relationship between the port and the development of regional economy by analyzing the boundary and structure of the system; and then designs SD model. The paper analyses the economic impact of the port for Jiangsu Province. The paper designs several schemes, such as increasing fixed investments, adjusting industrial structure, adopting advanced techniques and increasing port investment, so as to analyze the policy impact for regional economy. At last, the paper put forwards several political suggestions for regional economy development.
