Developing Status And Prospect In China's Logistic Industry

The studying purpose of this thesis is to find out the main problem existing in china's logistic industry, and moreover give out pertinent countermeasures after analyzing china's present situation of logistic such as infrastructures, logistic service market, 3PL, 4PL , and relative technical equipment and so on. At the end of the article, the author presented the foreground of china's logistic industry. We hope that the thesis can provide reference for relative people and organization and in addition some efforts for the development for china's logistic industry. 1. Developing status of China's logistic industry The main analysis of this part are as follows: ①The construction of logistic information & telecommunication infrastructure: the author proceeds the investigation and analysis from macroscopical and microscopical aspects to sum up that the products of PCs, telecommunication, and network can basically meet the demand in the industry despite the fact that we do not have most intellectual property rights of those equipment. On the other hand, microscopically, compared with developed countries, we are far behind in the aspects of the second-time-developing ability, the construction of information platform, and the employ of specific softwares. ②In the aspect of the construction of transporting networks, the author introduced contemporary status of highway, railroad, aviation, water carriage, and pipeline transportation. Some new datum are cited here. ③The construction of logistic center. Besides the introduction to the automatic solid warehouse, the author emphasized the importance of the construction of logistic center in the optimization of logistic network, and the strategic significance of consolidate, whole, and professional programming. ④Technical logistic equipment includes: industrial transportation vehicles, heavy trucks, packing materials and equipment, and warehouse equipment, the present status of which is introduced. The gaps between us and developed countries are also pointed out. ⑤Management level. The part described the gaps and reasons in the aspect of management between China and developed countries, pointing out the severity of talent drainage and simple introduction to the construction of logistic information system. 2. The analysis on the status of China's logistic service market First, the author introduced logistic developing status in the following industries: automobile, electric appliances, sales and retailing, pharmaceutical, and tobacco. And after that, the status in different regions: the coast line in the southeast (active demand), and the mid-west and northeast regions (with great potency). 3. The market status of third party logistic(3PL)and fourth party logistic(4PL) Above all, the third party logistics have big potential market and rapid development. Besides the strong proof of the relative data, logistic scale effect determined its fast move forward. Presently, the main source of the China's 3PL service demand is domestic joint ventures, new and high technology enterprises, and some big state-owned enterprises. Secondly, China's 3PL's present status is: the active areas are located in the southeast; the supplier's function is limited and value-added service is weak. Foreign-invested logistic enterprises are focusing in the import and export business, while domestic enterprises in domestic business. By now, a lot of enterprises have developed "the third profit source", and uplifted their efficiency. After that, China's 3PL is still faced with the problems of low profit, short of talent, and the difficulty of finding the partners. Finally, the thesis gave out brief statement and analysis on the concept, origination, and the situation of research development of 4PL.Being the advanced stage of logistic management, 4PL and supply chain managementcan help each other to gain the advantages when combined together. 4.The problems in China's logistic industry and suggestions The thesis then bring forward the problems in China's logistic industry and pertinent suggestions on the foundation of the above statement and analysis of the 1~3 parts: ①The coarse management is not completely changed. Intensive management should be applied. ②the contradiction of lopsided demand & supply still exists; The producing enterprises should take the advantages of resources to uplift their core competence whereas logistic enterprises should enforce their ability conformity. ③The "bottle neck"restrict ion of infrastructure is more outstanding; the span development of the railroad should be realized. ④Logistic developing environment needs to be improved; we should begin with the aspects of systems, policy, and laws. ⑤Logistic education is relatively dropped behind; we should cultivate a good quantity of logistic professionals to drive logistic development in our country. ⑥The level of our logistic standardization is relatively low; the state and the associate of the industry should propel the construction of logistic standardization. 5. The prospect of China's logistic development The last part of the thesis viewed the prospect of China's logistic industry. The author bring forward the prophecy that logistic industry will enjoy its gold time during the 11th five-year plan, after taking the ongoing economic development, opening up to the external world, and system reformation chance into account.
