Facing the increasing competitive global market, many businesses are looking for ways to utilize their resources efficiently so as to survive and make profits. Enterprises in the 21st Century are facing the international challenge of the competition in network economy; the competitive environment changes greatly and becomes globalization. With the development of World-made and custom's varied demand; it is not enough just to construct internal resource to get competition advantage. Competitions between contemporary enterprises have changed from static to dynamic. So, a new management idea is needed. This research was carried out under this background.Supply chain management (SCM) has been emphasized as a new management idea and model in recent years. The effect of supply chain (SC) will play an important role in enterprise's strategy decision. The exploration has important significance in theory and practice for improving competitive competence of enterprises. This research firstly analyzed the basic concepts, characteristics of SC and the basic thoughts, evolvement and management model about the theory of SCM, and pointed out the distinction between SCM and the traditional management and the former's effect on enterprise business. The SCM plays an important role in decreasing goods in stock, improving customer service, shortening production preparation, reducing market risk, and increasing the overall interests. SCM has become the strategic choice for the enterprises to cultivate the key competitiveness, strengthen the competition advantage, and meet the need of tide. The SCM theory has great influence on the port development and plays an important role on promoting the key competitiveness of port. The marketing competition in 21st century will be no longer the individual competition between ports but the competition between supply chains. Its effect and significance for the port is elucidated. Then, the collaborative competition of ports in the environment of SCM is analyzed. The essence and aim of the cooperative and win-win relationshipbetween ports is demonstrated. Furthermore, based on the above theory, a new model from the viewpoint of game theory is proposed. Port is an important part in connecting every loop of supply chain and the performance will directly impact the competition position of every company on the supply chain and try to express the role of port in modern logistics, to enhance the strategy sense of developing logistics profession in Shanghai. Then provides some corresponding strategies.By adopting the SWOT analysis method, the research proposed the tactics and measure of developing modern logistics in port Shanghai according to the outside environment and inner practice situation of port Shanghai, carried out the competitive strategy of Shanghai port and puts forward some operational proposals. Then, the research also points out that in this situation, ports should form networks in order to enhance their own core competitiveness."Supply Chain Management" is widely recognized as critical areas of economic activity directly affecting competitive advantage and business success, especially in the environment of accelerating globalization in the wake of China's entry into WTO and the anticipated removal of quotas and other structural barriers to free movement of goods and services. What and how Chinese ports transform themselves to become better partners in a global integrated supply chain will determine who are the winners and losers in the next decade. We should pay close attention to the global supply chain system. To try to join the global supply chain system is an important way for Chinese ports to gain competitive advantages.Finally, the research presents that, for fitting to the global competition, it is available road to choice the enterprise strategy based on supply chain management.
