Levels Of Analysis: East Asia Regional Cooperation

East Asia Regional Cooperation has achieved greatly through several decades' development and has formed the levels of sub-regional, regional and grand regional cooperation. The paper has made some deep explorations into the mechanism by ASEAN, 10+3 and APEC respectively. The approaches of case study, historical research and systemic analysis are applied in the process of theoretical studies. The paper argues that ASEAN, driven by the ASEAN spirits, has created a set of flexible and practical cooperation mechanism involved with politics, security and economics over 30 years' efforts and changes, which has already adopted with different political environment from the Cold War to the Post Cold War period. The East Asia countries has already made some modes of 10+1 and 10+3 in order to boost the cooperation on the basis of diversity and difference, which reflects on the international relations in this region and on all members' considerations. APEC, including developed and developing economic entities, has adopted the special APEC way to forth the cooperation, promoting the investment liberalization and technological exchanges freedom in Asia Pacific region. Deeply speaking, the paper reasons that the East Asia' politics structure goes toward the mode of multilateral dialog, structural hegemonic stability or multilateral development after historical changes. And each of them or a complex of them will be the alternative in the foreseeable future. With regard to the security structure, the sever confrontation is gradually replaced by the peaceful and fruitful dialog. And cooperation security organizations are well operating such as the ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) and the Council for Security and Cooperation in Asia Pacific (CSCAP), which have a great influence on the security cooperation and dialog among East Asia countries. As for the economic structure, it is characterized by the state of stairs, especially in the aspects of the economic industry and momentary finances, which is regarding as the rich benefits for mutual cooperation. As a key nation in East Asia Pacific region, China has actively joined in the East Asia cooperation and played a vital role and shouldered an important responsibility in the great course. Therefore, we believe there will be a hopeful future for the cooperation through all members' efforts.
